                                 The Shunga Creek Meteorite

One day me and my friend were fishing at the Shunga creek in Topeka Kansas, this place usually
has hundreds of different fish in a small area, and some are huge, and there in a creek you could
almost jump across. After a few hours, with no luck ,we went back towards a small field on the
way I found a small dark rock with shiny metal flakes inside. I went home, and discovered it was magnetic. But not as magnetic as magnetite, or slag. This rock was very, very small however
appears like a meteorite. The next few days I found many, many more. In a certain area. A few
weeks later I found a big dip in the ground. The circumference, was a few hundred feet , and nine
feet deep at the center. It must have been pretty old considering there is a forest was on the north side
In the next few weeks I gathered more than one hundred small samples. The biggest an inch across I
was waiting for the big one, and after a few months, I found It.

I was on my way to another friends house when I felt something under my foot. I looked down and
saw a large Dark rock. This Rock like the smaller ones had many shiny flecks inside, and was magnetic. Then, the next day I found four more rocks about the same size. It is a Major find, its
believed to be an ordinary chondrite, or an achondrite, that exploded over the landscape. Scattering
meteorites around the area.

NUCLEAR WEAPONDRY

Nuclear weapons are the most powerful weapon made so far. They are very destructive destroying miles around the detonation zone. They have been used in world war 2 in Hiroshima, and Nagasaki Japan and killed thousands of people. These bombs ended world war 2 they work by splitting an atom and causing a massive chain reaction. This is the same reaction nuclear energy plants use. And like Chernobyl its very devastating if used wrong. Nukes are uses in bombs and nuclear warheads. After the cold war world leaders decided to stop testing nukes. There are so many nukes in the world it could cause world extinction if all of the nukes explode

What killed the dinosaurs?
A few million years ago a huge event occurred, causing hundreds of species of animals
to die off. What caused this? It was first thought that an asteroid impact caused the mass wipe out of animals and killed 70% of all life on earth. This is what most people believe. But there are more possibilities. One example is a rare event called a supervolcano. There are 7 known Supervolcanoes, and one is active. Its a well known supervolcano named Yellowstone. Famous for its hundreds of geysers. Mud pots, and thermonuclear ponds. A supervolcano leaves a giant crater called a caldera. An eruption of this scale can cover the entire country and effect the world for years. It produces thousands of times more ash than Mt St Helens. So here what could have happened. 1. An asteroid impact 2.. an supervolcanic eruption 3. both 1 & 2.

COMET ISON IS DEAD

Comet Ison was discovered January 2012 and was called the comet of the century
it was expected to shine brighter than the moon! But in early December the comet
zipped around the sun, the comet looked okay when it came around the sun. But gradually it started disintegrating into a cloud of glowing dust, made of rock, ice, and gas. Comet Ison was killed by the sun. the gravity of the sun pulled the comet to close
the gravity ripped the comet to shreds!
